Awesome podcast

Ok, so perhaps I'm the only person who likes this on my ipod (which I don't believe I am!) But if you do like helpful hints on how to live as a celiac! She is awesome! She says "fabulous" and "totally fabulous" ALL THE TIME, which I honestly think is totally FABULOUS!!!! Anyhow, it's free on itunes and she has really interesting topics (one was all about gluten free alcohol which of course i couldn't use that information until I'm 21....;)

or go to your itunes store and search "hold the gluten" and download all the episodes for FREE!!!!!

:) Luv, CS

I have what?!?!?

Here We start:

Me: Hi. I'm Chelsea and I'm a Celiac.

Everyone: Hello Chelsea

So the first step to being healthy as a celiac is admiting you are a celiac. It is now part of your identity, it is going to follow you everywhere you go, it's not going away....unfortunately. I'll start with my testimony.

I was born on March 1, 2009 seven minutes following my twin sister. I have been sparkly and dramatic ever since. However, most of my life I have struggled with depression, anemia, anxiety, stomach issues etc. There are so many problems that I could mention that made no sense to me, my doctors or my parents. My Mom discovered her celiac disease in late 2006, followed by my sister Danielle early the next year. But not I! I refused to believe that I had this torturous disease. In June of this year, I went (back) to my doctor and
was told that her diagnosis was fibromyalgia AND diabetes. But she was going to do the celiac test along with the other final tests. The test came back. I was a celiac.

I cried.

I screamed.

I cried.

I weeped.

I got up, wiped my tears momentarily, and went and ate some celery. But then I began to read, I changed my ENTIRE diet, and I'm PROUD to say, I have not cheated one time since then. And truthfully, I'm not even tempted to cheat. Because, after the initial pain of coming off gluten (which hurt REALLY bad) As if magic, I was cured. Pain that I didn't even know I had experianced was gone, I could wake up in the morning and not be tired, I could stay up at night, excuse me, but I started to use the bathroom and sweat normally!

So now, because I have learned so much and I'm living as a celiac teen, I thought I would share my story and a part of my brain. So here you go....

The Adventure Continues.
